On July 16, the 2025 Japan-Taiwan University Presidents’ Forum was held at Hotel Nikko Kumamoto in Kumamoto. In attendance from Kobe University was TAMAKI Hisashi, executive vice president and director of the Institute for Promoting International Partnerships.
Under the overarching theme “The Future of the Region: Challenges of Universities in Japan and Taiwan in the Innovative Era," the forum featured four sessions: “Student and Young Researcher Exchange,” “Industry-Academia Collaboration for Local Development,” “The Role of Universities for Natural Disasters,” and “Digital Transformations in Higher Education,” which featured lively discussions on the initiatives and efforts of each university.
A total of 52 institutions from Japan and 33 institutions from Taiwan participated in the forum.
Participation in this forum is expected to enhance academic exchanges between Kobe University and institutions in Taiwan.
